The Deux-Sèvres Ornithological Group (Gods) has just carried out, as at the end of each season, a count of postnuptial gatherings through three counts, carried out by 71 observers. The report was published on the association's website.
What to remember? Good news, in particular for the numbers of Little Bustard, a species threatened with extinction. These are high with a maximum of 377 individuals at the first count (mid-September). The number of 443 individuals obtained in the second count (end of September – beginning of October) constitutes a record and is linked to the return of one of the largest gatherings in the Plaine d'Oiron-Thénezay Special Protection Zone (SPA).
