It was at the Houlme cultural space that digital advisor Manon Graveleau presented the method for developing the Discover Briouze (Orne) route.

This initiative, available in digital and paper formats, offers a real treasure hunt to explore the territory in a fun way.

The main objective is to offer an activity free and friendlyaccessible to all ages, which encourages walking and exploring the town.

The desire is to create one or more fun courses to learn its history differently.

Bringing residents together around the project

Manon Graveleau, from the Familles Rurales association, wants to create one or more routes with residents to discover Briouze. For this, it is essential to federate around the project and to collect as many stories as possible, big or small, about the town.

In Briouze, many sources d’information are available: the walking association, the Friends of Houlme, books on Norman Switzerland, as well as old…

These resources can be used to enrich the content. “We need to combine concrete, sourceable information with more eccentric anecdotes in order to remain fun and open to all,” she emphasizes.

Several stages of creation and testing

The project benefits from the support of Flers Agglo, which has already developed similar initiatives for the towns of Flers and La Ferté-Macé. “They have existing applications that will be able to host us,” she adds.

Nicolas Bonhomme, of the tourist office de Flers, supports the project both in substance and form.

The project is now validated and financed thanks to partners : AG2R, Briouze, digital advisor, Flers Agglo, Rural Families and Montagnes de Normandie.

During the Sainte-Catherine fair, on Sunday, November 24, Manon Graveleau will be present all day to present the project and collect the anecdotesinformation, small and big stories from the town.

A game for this summer?

The month of December will be devoted to sorting and data verification. Construction of the course(s) will take place between February and March, with full-scale tests planned.

This summer, tourists and residents will be able to discover the town through this treasure hunt. Everyone can get involved in this project on one or more stages.

All suggestionsideas, comments or anecdotes are welcome, the idea being to involve as many volunteers as possible to enrich the project.
