In its latest bulletin published this Saturday, November 23, Météo France placed the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques on orange alert for strong winds this Sunday, November 24 from 6 a.m. This episode is linked to the Bert depression, explains the meteorological institute.
“The south to southeast wind sets in this Saturday over the relief of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. This wind strengthens from the beginning of Sunday morning before extending in the morning to the rest of the chain in a lesser measure,” he writes again. Of strong gusts, up to 110 or even 120 km/h are therefore expected until the end of this Sunday afternoon.
Météo France finally indicates that this vigilance could be extended on the department. The level of vigilance could also be revised upwards, towards orange, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region should also be affected by violent winds.
