Like every year, the new residents of Batz-sur-Mer (Loire-Atlantique) were treated to a small joint welcome ceremony from the town hall and Accueil Ville Française (AVF) Le Croisic-Batz-sur-Mer . Out of 35 invitations issued by the municipality, only six households respondedto the point that AVF volunteers were ultimately more numerous than the newcomers…

This year, these neo-Batzians, young and old, are arriving mainly from the Nantes region.

Meeting with four couples who all talked about their new quality of lifelinked to the environment.

Hugo, Margot and their son Ponyo

Hugo and Margot have always lived on the peninsula. Margot in Pouliguen and Hugo in Saint-André-des-Eaux.

They settled in Trégaté so that Ponyo, their son born in February, could “enjoy the air of the salt marshes and beautiful walks by the sea”, the couple tells'Echo of the peninsula.

Young parents carry out their respective activities by teleworking in the field of communication.

Margot also gives regular yoga classes, in addition to her communication activity, and Hugo works for an ocean racing team. The proximity of Nantes-Atlantique airport allows him to make frequent business trips, even if it is not always ideal.

Michel and Michele

This couple is came from the Dordogne.

We suffered from the heat there and the house was no longer suited to our situation. During our vacation in Le Croisic, we enjoyed the region and decided to settle there. Currently, we are renting near Poulan, not far from the center and very close to the beach.

Yannick and Patricia

They arrive from Nanteswhere they have always lived since their marriage in 1973. But they know Batz-sur-Mer well.

We had a second home in Pouliguen and the children came to the beach in Valentin. We own an apartment in the Ker Devenneck residence, where we have settled while waiting to find a house in the town center.

And it is now done, with a house found on the main street, thanks to which they will be able to “do everything on foot”.

We are very happy to be here and, what's more, it brings us closer to our children.

Caroline et Luc

They are the youngest of the couples we met. Originally from the Rennes region, Caroline and Luc arrive from Nantes.

We were stressed by the environment. It was the sea that called us and we are very happy to be here.

Luc, for his part, is an engineer at Chantiers de l'Atlantique. They are tenants in La Herpe and would like to buy to become owners, but “it’s not easy”.
