Closure of Michelin in : the prefect of Morbihan brings together a first strategic committee

After the announcement made by the Michelin group, on November 5, of the planned closure of two sites in the Great West, including that of , the prefect of Morbihan convened a first strategic committee in the prefecture on Friday, November 22, indicates this Saturday a press release from the prefecture. This strategic committee brought together company representatives, economic and institutional players, parliamentarians and state services. According to this press release, the prefect Pascal Bolot “as part of his role as guarantor of a fair and equitable procedure” announced “having sent an official request to the Michelin company relating to the carrying out of a social impact study and territorial, measuring the consequences of the closure of the Vannes factory”.

The KPMG firm mandated

“Concerned about the future of the site, the prefect and state services have insisted on the obligations weighing on the company in terms of finding a buyer, revitalizing and revitalizing the territory,” the press release continues. The KPMG firm, mandated to carry out this mission, presented the first elements of the method during the meeting. On the social side, the prefect recalled the need to put in place an exemplary support plan. “The State has reaffirmed its vigilance on the quality and efficiency of the measures which will be proposed, and which must ensure the reclassification and retraining of the 299 employees of the Vannes site. This strategic committee took place in a calm and constructive atmosphere, marked by the desire expressed by all the stakeholders to achieve the best possible solutions for employees and for the region,” indicates the prefecture.
