Two serious traffic accidents occurred on Friday November 22 at the end of the day in Pas-de-Calais. Emergency services were first mobilized around 6:30 p.m. in Aix-Noulette, near Lens, to a collision between three cars and a heavy goods vehicle, on the A26 motorway. One of the cars caught fire, and firefighters put out the fire. In total, 5 people were involved, and three were injured, including a 72-year-old woman who had to be extricated from her vehicle. The latter was hospitalized at the Lens hospital center. Two men aged 51 and 59 were treated at Arras hospital in relative emergency. The injured dog of one of the drivers was transported to the veterinary clinic.
The second accident occurred in the town of Monchy-Breton, near Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise. The firefighters were called at 10 p.m. to come to the aid of four people, including two children, who were traveling in the same car on rue de la Thieuloye. A 28-year-old woman remained trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated. She was transferred to Arras hospital. Also hospitalized were the two children, a 7-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, who were more lightly affected. The fourth person, a 27-year-old man, escaped unhurt.
