A Gardois and a Lozerian create the Histoires et crapahutes hiking film festival

Both passionate about wide open spaces and hiking, Gardois Jérôme Poizat and Lozérien Philippe Donadille created the hiking film festival Histoires et crapahutes.

This is a traveling festival in cinemas which offers an evening of screenings around this theme, but not only that. “Of course the backdrop is the hike, the landscapes that go with the escape, the change of scenery, but behind that, what mattered to us is that the films offer real stories, specifies Jérôme Poizat. Our name is Stories and Climbs, so we're going to trudge but also and above all, tell stories, on various subjects, life change, disability, exploration and surpassing oneself…“

A three-hour evening

The evening, which lasts around three hours, is hosted by the duo of festival founders. Five films are presented. Philippe Donadille, reveals a little more about the programming: “We are going to Iceland, Tajikistan, but also close to home, in the Alps or even in Corsica. We have built an eclectic program, with directors who are passionate about their adventure. Jérôme and I, beyond setting up this festival, which is close to our hearts, made one of the five films. A trek on the ridges of Cap Corse. It’s a bit of a way of introducing ourselves and this festival..”

The duo's leitmotif is to present human adventures that can captivate the public and delight their eyes. Season 1 of the festival begins in December and will travel across France until March. The sessions in Lozère will take place in Marvejols, on December 15, at 4 p.m., at the Trianon; has Saint-Chély-d'Apcher, March 8, at 8:30 p.m., at the cinema theater and in Mende, on March 9, at 5 p.m., the Trianon.
