The former prime minister Edward Philippe (from May 2017 to July 2020, under the first mandate of Emmanuel Macron) now has three new supporters in Vendée.
Three regional advisors
Three elected representatives from Vendée have just announced, this Friday, November 22, that they are joining the party Horizonschaired by Edouard Philippe.
These are:
All three sit on the Pays de la Loire Regional Council, in the “Love and Act for the Pays de la Loire” group.
Behind the regional president
In a press release published this Friday November 22the three elected officials explain:
We share all the values of the Horizons Manifesto. These are those of the historical values of France; the continued transformation of our country in the face of various societal challenges; freedom to act, to succeed and to express oneself; of the republican order; of humanism; ecological ambition; social justice; decentralization; of national independence and the European project […] We will carry these values with commitment alongside Christelle Morançais, our president of the Pays de la Loire Region who supports her in this vision of France.
For the three elected officials from Vendée, this positioning comes as the next presidential election is already taking shape. “Edouard Philippe is the candidate for election to the Presidency of the French Republic in 2027 who will be able to bring together, train, and appease the French around a new project for the nation,” add the three elected officials.
Center-Right
For Evelyne Menettrier, François Blanchet and Ludovic Hocbon:
The Center Right has always been our political family. Edouard Philippe embodies the current of political ideas in which we recognize ourselves.
More precisely, all three were formerly labeled The Republicans (LR). But in mid-December 2022, they surrendered their card following the election of Eric Ciotti as party leader.
