“We received the families at the town hall yesterday, the march is being organized on their initiative and we will fully partner with them”declares Christian Dulac, mayor of Rumilly (Haute-Savoie). On Sunday, November 17, the city was the scene of a tragedy: a 19-year-old young man was shot and killed during a fight. One of his friends is still in the hospital in serious condition.

To pay tribute to these two young people, the families have decided to organize a white march, it will be held this Sunday, November 24, around 4 p.m. “A priori, we would start from the Church parking lot until reaching the Place d'Armes (location of the drama, Editor’s note), explains the mayor. The chosen one should speak during this moment of contemplation.

The City has also set up a psychological unit since the beginning of the week, in particular to welcome witnesses to this tragedy which took place in the middle of the afternoon.

The elected official also wants to get closer to the city's young people and is thinking of welcoming them to the town hall: “We must at all costs make them understand that revenge is not at all a solution. I make myself available to these young people to discuss”he proclaims.

The current situation is therefore very difficult to live with for this municipality: “As mayor, it’s a difficult moment, we don’t expect to experience this kind of thing. So now, we’re thinking of the families, of these young people who were attacked”testifies Christian Dulac. “The time has now come for mourning and respect for the family,” concludes the mayor.
