The 2024 Tour party will take place in Nîmes on Saturday July 13, ahead of the stage which arrives there on July 16.
This is the event not to be missed before the Tour de France passes through Nîmes on Tuesday, July 16. The aim is to bring people together and raise awareness about cycling in its entirety. Nîmes, as a stage town on the 2024 Grande Boucle, is thus inviting the public to come and celebrate the imminent arrival of the Tour de France by enjoying numerous outdoor events on the Charles-de-Gaulle esplanade, focusing on cycling in all its forms.
The city of Nîmes is offering a “Bike Stroll” event which consists of taking a peloton-style route open to all, with a seven-kilometre loop including a passage over the finish line of the 16th stage of the Tour de France, Gruissan-Nîmes, on Boulevard Salvador-Allende, on 16 July. The tour will last one hour and you will need to bring your own equipment.
The route? The start will be at 10am from the Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle. Then? Tour of the boulevards of l’Écusson, Maison Carrée, arenas, boulevard Salvador-Allende and arrival on the Esplanade (Village animations).
To participate in the event, it’s very simple, you just need to enter on the form (registration possible from 8 years old – accompanied by an adult).
The first 1,000 registrants will win a yellow t-shirt with the “Fête du Tour 2024” logo, offered by the city of Nîmes. These t-shirts can be collected exclusively in San Lucar at the offices of the Sports Department (105 rue San Lucar, 30900 Nîmes) from July 8 until the day before the parade.
Is a dress code required? For this animation, wear yellow clothing (t-shirt/top). For safety reasons, wearing a helmet will be compulsory for all cyclists.
