Around the sub-prefects of Alès and Vigan, the departmental directorate of employment, work and solidarity (DDETS) set up, this Friday morning, the local committee for employment in the Alès – Le Vigan basin . The law for full employment of December 18, 2023 is gradually coming to the territories. After the regional and departmental committees, place the local committees around the same employment area and, in the case of Alès – Le Vigan, two sub-prefectures, around a law which aims to strengthen the support of the person and response to employers.

But before the reflection, the diagnosis of the territory was shared. The Alès – Le Vigan employment area still displays, with 11.7%, an unemployment rate higher than the rest of the department (9.8% in the whole of Gard). The unemployed in the area represent 27.2% of all job seekers in the department. 23% of the population is on the RSA, of which only a third is registered with France Travail. All beneficiaries will be from January 1st.

Among the obstacles to employment most cited by job seekers in the area, digital exclusion comes first, ahead of the applicant's state of health or the lack of means of transport, particularly glaring among job seekers. long-term employment. Caregivers, home helpers and nurses remain the most sought-after professions, while construction operators are among the professions which have the most difficulty finding labor.

Working groups from different organizations and institutions will therefore begin to work on three priority themes: career path, public and obstacles to employment; territorial issues; employment and businesses, the professions of old age. The members present wanted to add early childhood to the priority themes. “The first actions will be implemented in January”said Mathieu Grémaud, deputy director of the DDETS of Gard, in response to the sub-prefect of Vigan, Anne Levasseur, who asked for something concrete.
