gendarmes seize 12 luxury cars worth 1.7 million euros

The list is dizzying. On November 12, under the direction of the public prosecutor's office, the gendarmes of the Brignoles research brigade seized 12 luxury vehicles: Lamborghini Hurus, Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, Rolls Royce Cullinam Monsoury, Audi RS4, Audi RS6, Audi Rs7, Mercedes class G Brabus, and quantity of BMW. Estimated value: 1.7 million euros.

This is the result of a long investigation which began on December 16, 2022 with the interception of a Lamborghini without a plate on the front, and registered in Germany. The car belongs to a luxury vehicle rental company.

Vast trafficking that could benefit organized crime

These vehicles, most of the time registered in Poland, were mainly “sublet in the PACA region, allowing their drivers to commit offenses” such as speeding, without ever being penalized.

The investigation uncovered stolen vehicles.

On November 12, the first wave of arrests uncovered a real treasure. Luxury cars, but also a jet-ski, a prestigious watch and leather goodsas well as cash. Seizure confirms rental company's involvement in illegal activities “with possible international ramifications”. The investigation is continuing, indicates the management of the National Gendarmerie, and it promises to be long, because these cars could be linked to organized criminal networks.
