This Thursday, a man aged around fifty was taken into police custody for having assaulted and threatened to kill the mayor of his town located in Pas-de-Calais. He suspected him of having an extramarital affair with his wife.
The mayor of the town of Saint-Laurent-Blangy, located in Pas-de-Calais, was assaulted and threatened with death on Thursday, early in the evening. According to information from Europe 1, the suspect, a 54-year-old man known to the police for traffic offenses, attacked the elected official against a backdrop of romantic jealousy.
No hospitalization

He is suspected of having assaulted and then threatened to kill the mayor of Saint-Laurent-Blangy and his deputy against a backdrop of romantic jealousy.
Contacted by Europe 1, the Arras public prosecutor's office clarified that the elected official was not hospitalized. However, the mayor and his deputy filed a complaint. Still in police custody, the accused is known to the courts for traffic offenses.
