A municipal police officer threatened with a knife, her colleagues overpower the attacker

An investigation into attempted homicide of a person holding public authority was launched after an individual entered the municipal police station of Mée-sur-Seine (Seine-et-) on Tuesday. In the middle of the day, the man took advantage of the entry of a public highway surveillance officer (ASVP) into the premises to rush in behind her, says Le Figaro.

He then threatened the official by placing a knife to her throat and briefly held her hostage, until the victim's colleagues, who entered the premises, managed to control the attacker. He, unknown to the police, intended to force the woman to follow him to another building.

The official was not injured but was in shock after the attack and was prescribed a six-day ITT. The reasons which prompted the intruder to act could not be determined immediately after the incident. The Parisian explains that a psychiatrist considered that the individual's discernment was abolished at the time of the attack and the man was therefore hospitalized.
