400 calls
Firefighters received 400 calls between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday. They carried out 120 interventions during the night, including 70 in the Aix basin and the Tarentaise, mainly due to falling trees and damaged power lines.
Many roofs were torn off. Fortunately, there were no victims.
Update on the damage from the night
This Thursday around 7:30 p.m. the storm toppled three trees across the road which blocked access to Revard for vehicles coming from the Aix-les-Bains side. This forced several motorists to turn around just before the Siberia parking lot. It was Célia and Enzo, the courageous mushers from Mikia, who reopened the path with a chainsaw, arms to clear and their determination to go down. The road between the station and Aix-les-Bains put the inhabitants of the heights to the test since at the same time there were also fir trees lying on the bitumen which crosses Véniper and Trévignin.
In the Aix basin From 8 p.m., gusts of wind were heard until the middle of the night, apparently at speeds exceeding 100 km/h. In the town of Biolle, some tiles flew away, tree branches were broken but on the RD 991B road leading to Saint-Germain-la-Chambotte, the telephone poles overloaded with wires (with 5G) did not resist between the exit of the town and the Croix du Sable and more than fifteen posts were broken, whether they were wood or metal. The orange network is very disrupted because a message was sent to their customers announcing a resumption on the 24th during the day but given the damage, this may seem unlikely.
