Lot to come: meetings on the ground for a mid-term assessment

After completing his visits to the 17 cantons of the Lot in spring 2023 to present the Lot A Venir mandate project, Serge Rigal, president of the Department, resumes his visits mid-term. This involves measuring the progress already made regarding the thirty 2021/2028 commitments made by the departmental assembly. First step, this Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the canton of Gramat: Serge Rigal met several players in the field in the company of departmental advisors Caroline Mey and Alfred-Mathieu Terlizzi.

First of all, new assets installed in Gramat as part of the Oh My Lot! program, a sign of an attractive Lot : Grégoire Poeuf, buyer in 2023 of the Mejecaze chocolate pastry shop, now renamed Pâtisserie Quercynoise; Catherine Cuny, owner of a bed and breakfast and speech therapist; Laurie Favier who opened an equipment store for riders and horses, Caval'Lot, in 2023.

During the afternoon, the 500th Solar Lot check was presented to Damien Barbié, resident in Padirac, for a solar electricity production project. Since 2023, the Department has been financing projects to equip and install photovoltaic or solar thermal panels in private homes. More than 3 million euros have already been allocated and more than 1,000 applications submitted. The system closes at the end of 2024. For a sustainable Lot, the Lot A Venir commitment is to “build the Lot with positive energy before 2050: double the production of renewable energies and reduce the production of renewable energy by 40%. consumption “.

On the theme of a solidarity Lot, elected officials visited the Recycl'éco du Pays de Gramat where the integration project project was discussed.

Then head to the Gramat stadium with the elected officials and representatives of JSG Rugby. As part of its territorial solidarity policy, the Lot Department financially supported the renovation project carried out by the municipality. This operation represents a total amount of €997,000, including €212,000 financed by the Department for the renovation of the stand and changing rooms.

The day ended with the traditional meeting with the canton's municipal elected officials at the Jean-Dumas village hall in Gramat.

Over the next few months, Serge Rigal will travel to all the other cantons of the Lot.
