IN PICTURES. Caetano storm: part of a poplar tree falls on a car parked north of Montpellier

Not resisting the gusts of wind from storm Caetano, blowing at more than 110 km/h in Occitanie this Thursday, November 21 (yellow alert), part of a poplar planted in a property on Chemin des Moulières in Les Matelles, a small village located north of Montpellier, collapsed during the night.

The branches, which blocked this one-way road lined with villas, violently hit the Tesla of a local resident who was parked at the intersection of Chemin de la Rayrete.

Although no injuries were reported (the vehicle was empty of any occupants at the time of the incident), the damage was considerable to the bodywork and the windshield which was perforated by a branch.

Chainsaws in hand, municipal employees cleared the access this Friday morning. An expert must come to make an observation.
