The weather services also announce the possibility of new localized flakes in the morning, likely to add 3 cm of snow in places. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution, particularly due to the risk of slippery roads and specific prohibitions.

School transport suspended in the greater suburbs

The departments of the outer suburbs (Yvelines, Essonne, Val-d'Oise, Seine-et-) are suspending school transport this Friday. However, schools remain open, depending on the prefectures concerned. The Essonne prefecture specifies that this measure aims to guarantee safety in the face of ice and possible snow showers expected in the morning.

Disruptions in public transport

On Thursday, bad weather affected many lines. The tram T13 remains out of service after a tree fell, and several bus and transilien lines have been slowed down. In Paris and the inner suburbs, 35 bus lineslike the TVM and lines 40, 47, 102 and 114, suffered significant disruptions. According to Île-de-France Mobilités and the RATP, T9 tram traffic is affected on the entire line. On the RER side, the line C encountered disruptions on the section between Brétigny and Dourdan. On the line Dtraffic is completely interrupted between Juvisy and Malesherbes via Ris-Orangis, with a normal resumption expected around 9:30 a.m.

Weather conditions also complicate traffic on several Transilien lines. Line H is disrupted in its entirety, as is the section of line J linking -Giverny to Saint-Lazare, line N between and Montparnasse, and line P between Coulommiers and Gare de l'Est.

Regarding line R, traffic is interrupted between Montereau and via Héricy, with an estimated resumption around 9 a.m. Finally, lines L and U suffered disruptions due to a technical incident.

Complicated traffic on Ile-de-France roads

Icy makes the roads particularly dangerous. Speed ​​limits are in place on motorways and heavy goods vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes are prohibited from driving on the road. N118 until Friday noon.

The ice caused an accident on the N104between Saint-Michel-sur-Orge and Brétigny-sur-Orge, in Essonne. The authorities are calling on motorists to exercise caution, especially on secondary roads, where the risk of slipping is high due to negative temperatures.

The Eiffel Tower closed

Finally, emblematic places like the Tour Eiffel remain closed until 1 p.m. today, due to weather conditions. This situation, although rare, reminds us of the importance of quickly adapting to climatic hazards in a region unaccustomed to such snowy episodes.
