Friday November 22 at 8 a.m., some 1,600 customers were without electricity in Indre-et-Loire. The inhabitants of La Ferrière, in the northwest, of Saint-Germain-sur-Vienne and Lerné, in Chinonais, as well as Descartes and Boussay in Sud-Touraine are among those affected.
These cuts follow the snowy episode and especially the Caetano storm. They have swept across the Centre-Val de Loire region since Thursday November 21, affecting the north and Eure-et-Loir more strongly.
Up to 37,000 customers affected in Centre-Val de Loire
Regionally, some 220 Enedis technicians were on the ground to restore the 22,0000 homes without power. The number of customers without electricity rose to 37,000 during the night from Thursday to Friday.
“Storm Caetano is still continuing its course and bringing with it ice and localized snow showers, which is slowing down the progress of the teams in the sectors concerned. The electricity distribution network faced strong winds and (sticky) snowfall which caused trees or branches to fall on the cables. we specify on the Enedis side.
Delays at stations
Disruptions and delays are also being seen in train travel. Falling trees notably disrupted traffic throughout the region.
