Cows or not, the environmentalist president of the metropolis of Lyon believes that hosting Intervilles would cost the community too much, with production requiring several hundred thousand euros.
The new version of Intervilles, without cows, should not pass through Lyon. Contacted by an intermediary of the game organized by France Télévisions, Bruno Bernard, president of the Lyon metropolis, decided to decline the offer.
The elected environmentalist was not against the idea of hosting the show (with or without cows), but was cooled by the financial conditions required by the production. “We were ready to welcome Intervilles, provided it was free. Then we saw the specifications and we said to ourselves that we were not going to spend hundreds of thousands of euros for that”said Bruno Bernard.
The controversial absence of cows
The arrival of Intervilles in the Lyon region is, however, not completely compromised since a municipality could very well decide to host the game without going through the metropolis. An eventuality “desired” by Bruno Bernard.
Several historic towns from the show, Dax, Mont-de-Marsan and Bayonne have also indicated that they will not participate in the new edition of Intervilles, but for a completely different reason. These communes in the South-West, attached to their traditions, are protesting against the absence of cows. “As an elected representative from Bayonne, I agree with the position of all the comrades of the South-West to say that we are not distorting this beautiful program”declared Olivier Alleman, municipal councilor delegated to the mayor.
