To cover this increase in expenses, the president of the club requested additional aid of 5,000 Euros from each of the two municipalities during a meeting which took place in February 2024 and during which an agreement in principle would have been given by the two town halls, without anything being officially signed.

Rudy Goy explains that he did not have any news until August, and, having also not received a confirmed refusal from the Megève town hall, during the official evening of presentation of the team on September 26 he shared the said budget, which included an increase of 10,000 Euros thanks to the two municipalities. As a result, Rudy Goy said he finally received a letter from Megève town hall at the beginning of October, announcing that no aid of 5,000 Euros would be granted. The president speaks of a “loss of confidence” and therefore announced, immediately, by email, his intention to resign. Some health problems also support this decision, he confirms.

For her part, the mayor of Megève Catherine Julien-Brèches believes that Mr Goy “has a short memory” and denounces a “pressure” to which she refuses to give in, specifying in passing that these 5,000 Euros only represent 1% of the overall budget. granted and recalling all the advantages enjoyed by the Hockey Club Mont-Blanc with privileged access to the Palais equipment and advertising placements granted. Catherine Julien-Brèches also points out the “118 hours of training and 23 hours of matches played just on the ice of Megève from January 1 to December 31, 2024” and raises the question of the necessary equal treatment with the different associations supported.
