“We are completely forgotten”: squats, litter… In , a lot of fed up in the small street

Rue Maurice-Bureau in (Seine-Saint-Denis), a homeless man sleeps in the middle of a pile of objects abandoned on the sidewalk. “Over time, it has become a real pigsty,” laments Chivasriy Franzis, a 21-year-old student who grew up in this suburban street, where his parents own their house. Tired of seeing living conditions deteriorate in the neighborhood, this young man launched a petition to challenge the municipality.

“The situation has deteriorated in recent years since the occupation of land located at the corner of our street and Rue de Stalingrad,” he explains. In the past, there was a pavilion on this plot but today it is squatted. It got very dirty. The land belongs to the town hall. We don't understand why she doesn't sell it to a real estate developer to build housing there. It would be better than that! » The young man collected the signatures of 19 inhabitants of this small street of 240 m. He plans to send his missive once he has the support of all local residents.
