Haut-Rhin, Territoire de Belfort, Doubs and Haute-Saône are on orange alert for snow and ice. The A36 was impacted on Thursday evening, the highway was even blocked near Sochaux.
The circulation of heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes is prohibited on the A36 in both directions, between Mulhouse (68) and Saint-Vit (25) until 10:00 a.m. today, by the prefecture of the Eastern defense and security zone. “Vehicles affected by the traffic ban measures will be intercepted and parked in storage areas,” specify the authorities.
Avoid the A36 in both directions
The APRR, the motorway company which manages the A36, warns of very complicated traffic in the Montbéliard sector following heavy snowfall and advises drivers to “limit their trips” and adapt their speed.
This Friday morning, according to information from France Bleu, at 8 a.m., the A36 is still blocked in the Montbéliard-Besançon direction, at the Sochaux-Exincourt exit (exit 9). There are still trucks in the middle of the road. Traffic is very difficult towards L'Isle-sur-le-Doubs, towards the south. It is also not recommended to avoid going back towards Mulhouse.
Vehicles were blocked all night near Montbéliard. A reporter from France Bleu was stuck.
