Channel: he loses his sheep in the snow

Pierre Demeautis has been moving heaven and earth since 7:15 a.m., Thursday, November 21, when this resident of Teurthéville-Bocage discovers, to his amazement, that his livestock has vanished. The gate of the plot is open, although Pierre is certain to have closed it the day before. Eight ewes and a ram have left. “I started looking left and right, but with the snow falling there is no trace. We can't see where the animals have gone.” he says.

He combs the surrounding area on foot and behind the wheel. “I start with the neighbors' fields, I look through the hedges to see if there are any holes through the barbed wire, but at one point I had to go inside because I was soaked, I I walked more than three kilometers without seeing anything, calling them, shaking the bucket of pellets.” I just don't.

“A needle in a haystack”

Helped by a few friends, including Thomas with whom he shares the ram and some of the sheep, Pierre does not expect to find the sheep for several days. “The herd is white and cream. In the snow, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.”

What worries him most is that the sheep and the ram are approaching the road to graze on grass. For his animals, but also for fear that they could cause a traffic accident. “Drive slowly and be careful in the Teurthéville-Bocage sector, especially in Hameau Bonhomme and Hameau Picot”, insists Pierre.

If you see lost sheep in the area, Pierre Demeautis awaits your calls at 07.60.58.48.17.
