At Les Egaluantes, the first school sessions canceled

This is the case for the opening of the Norman film festival Les Egaluantes. This Thursday, the programs for schools were to inaugurate the festival. They were postponed as winter weather left many children at home. On the other hand, the festival is maintaining, for the time being, the sessions planned for this Friday for students in the region.

Friday evening, time for preview evenings open to the general public with six screenings Pretty Prettya musical comedy presented by Clara Luciani, Laura Felpin, Grégoire Ludig.

No cigarette butt collection in Cherbourg

Another disrupted event: the premium horse racing meeting in Graignes. The trotting races scheduled for 4:30 p.m. this Thursday have been postponed to Saturday, November 23. The start of the races remains unchanged. Operations begin at 6:55 p.m.

In Cherbourg, the Manche Surfrider branch and Cotentin Filtration are not taking any risks and are canceling their large cigarette butt collection which was to take place on Saturday November 23 in the city center of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche). It is postponed to Saturday December 7.

Another example: MP Anna Pic (PS) preferred to postpone her Thursday evening “political aperitif” planned in Sideville in order to “avoid the population having to take the risk of traveling”.

Retailers and public services alike are adapting

Traders also had to adapt this Thursday. Some chose to lower the curtain earlier than usual. “To guarantee the safety of our employees, your store will exceptionally close its doors at 4:30 p.m.,” communicates Electro Dépôt de La Glacerie. Same thing in Tollevast for the employees of Botanic Legruel who closed the store at 5 p.m. “to return before dark”.

Public services have also taken precautions. This is the case of the Community of Communes of the Bay of Cotentin (head office, Maison France Services de Carentan, offices of the tourist office of Carentan and Sainte-Mère-Église) which exceptionally closed its services at 16 hours this Thursday. Same thing for the municipal services of Saint-Lô.
