The Peasant Confederation 47, through its spokesperson Marion Debats, attacks the prefect of Lot-et-Garonne after the declaration of public utility of the greenway on the banks of the Lot in Villeneuve.

“This lack of consideration and understanding of agricultural realities can only fuel peasant despair for which you bear part of the responsibility today.” We cannot say that Prefect Barnier is experiencing a week of agricultural calm. The missive is signed Marion Debats, the spokesperson for the departmental committee of the Peasant Confederation. The debate on the greenway on the banks of the Lot has started again after the declaration of public utility was approved by the State services last week.

If the Greater Villeneuvois agglomeration is delighted with the choice of the prefecture, the atmosphere is quite different among the residents impacted by the 5 meter wide track. The point of tension is the exploitation of Emmanuel Aze, one of the members of Conf'paysanne. The greenway file could “call into question” its agricultural project “by an expropriation with destruction of a farm building and a greenway in the middle of the farmyard, an essential place for the practical organization of the agricultural activity” assures Marion Debats.

The spokesperson announces the color to the prefect of Lot-et-Garonne: “the prospect of expropriation obliges us to initiate a contestation procedure which requires energy and time to be spent again while the farm is in a period key to its future. The administrative pressure it causes is, in our opinion, akin to mistreatment which profoundly alters the practice of the profession. » In the current period of peasant protest and after this “declaration of public uselessness of agriculture”, Marion Debats tells the prefect that “our working relations are now affected and that we will act accordingly”.
