Météo-France has placed the Indre department on orange alert for strong winds until 8 p.m., with gusts reaching between 100 and 110 km/h. After this time, the wind should weaken significantly.
This phenomenon has led to rising watersof the tree falls and of electric wires on public roads. Thanks to reconnaissance operations, the coordinated action of firefighters and road services made it possible to clear several traffic routes in the affected municipalities, thus ensuring the safety of the population. No casualties have been reported.
At 7:15 p.m., 80 firefighters were mobilized in Indre, including 10 operating from the operational coordination room. Since 1:30 p.m., 40 interventions have been recorded. Power outages remain possible.
It is advisable to limit your travel.
Lavyellow snow-ice alert maintained until Friday, November 22 at 12 p.m.
Given the conditions, it is advisable to:
Avoid non-urgent travelespecially on secondary or isolated roads.
Equip your vehicle accordingly (snow tires, chains).
Walk carefully to prevent the risk of falls.
School transport is maintained, but great vigilance is recommended, particularly in the south of the departmentwhere reinforced salting operations were requested.
Traffic restrictions are implemented and apply to vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes on all roads in the department. These vehicles are not authorized to overtake. In addition, their maximum speed is reduced by 20 km/h compared to the usual limits.
