And “safety” exercise took place this Thursday, November 21, 2024 in all educational establishments in Loire-Atlantique. 1,015 establishments of the first and second degree participated in this exercise, which represents 267,161 students.
A giant exercise throughout Loire-Atlantique
This exercise, called Special security plan (PPMS) major risks/climate eventwas organized by the prefecture of Loire-Atlantique, the Rectorate, the Regional Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Forestry (DRAAF) and the Diocesan Directorate of Catholic Education (DDEC).
The exercise took place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in schools, colleges and high schools.
The scenario was as follows: « Météo France places the Loire-Atlantique department in red alert for the phenomenon thunderstorms et strong winds. As a precautionary measure, the prefect requests the activation of PPMS in educational establishments. »
Police officers, gendarmes and firefighters mobilized
Thus, the Departmental Operational Center (COD) was activated between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., chaired by Sophie Pausesdeputy director of the prefect's office, in the presence of the National Education services, the DRAAF, the DDEC, the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis), the national police and gendarmerie.
For this fifth edition, Marie Argouarc'h chief of staff, was at the Harouys school in Nantes. And Bruno Launaygeneral secretary of the sub-prefecture of Chateaubriant-Anceniswas at Sainte-Anne college in Loireauxence.
The goal? “Experience in immersion with the staff and students the triggering of the PPMS and the sheltering. »
What is a security plan?
PPMS are plans intended for educational establishments, in order to deal with events, whether of natural origin (storm, flood, earthquake…), technological (toxic cloud, explosionradioactivity, etc.), or specific emergency situations (intrusion of foreign people, attacks…), likely to cause harm to people and property.
