A man in his forties lost his life in a road accident in Saint-Antoine-de-l’Isle-aux-Grues on Wednesday evening, a place difficult to access for first aid.
The tragic event occurred around 5:30 p.m., on Chemin du Quai. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the swerve was of accidental origin.
The death of the passenger, a man in his forties, was noted at the scene. Its driver, a man in his thirties, suffered minor injuries.
“There were issues related to accessibility. […] There are delays because we have to get there by ferry,” underlines Frédéric Deshaies, spokesperson for the provincial police force.
Remember that L’Isle-aux-Grues is a small island, with an area of 24 km2 located in the St. Lawrence River, about ten kilometers north of Montmagny.
A police officer trained in collision investigation went to the scene to analyze the circumstances of the swerve.
