The Mené country was born from the desire to unite the living forces and stakeholders of the territory to develop it in an essentially rural inland .

It was March 1965. Nearly sixty years have passed. The cultural association Laur' wanted to mark this anniversary with a dedicated discussion evening, Laurenan (Côtes-d’Armor) Tuesday November 26, 2024at 8 p.m.

“We will discuss its history, the dreams and achievements that men and women have carried for almost 60 years, without forgetting the perspectives of this territory located in the heart of rural Brittany.

This intervention is part of the next anniversary of the Mené Expansion Committee », Explain the members of the Laur'Art office.

In March 1965, local actors, nourished by their studies, their travels, their discoveries and, above all, their associative commitment, decided to act. From their dreams, from their initiatives in the associative, cultural and political fields in particular, were born achievements and structures that still exist today.

For this exceptional evening, several people invested in the development of Mené will come to express this beautiful history of Mené, and will outline the prospects for the future.

Jean-Pascal Guillouët traces the history of the Mené expansion committee, a subject that he masters very well, having documented himself extensively.

He will give the floor to Jacky Aignel which will discuss the Sivom years, and political structuring.

It will also address the mobilization of an era which allowed the establishment of the company Kermen's in Saint-Jacut-du-Mené and Collinee.

Serge Hamonpresident of the Mené development office, will take over by presenting the cultural aspect, the tape library, as well as Mosaïque.

The evening will end with the intervention of Dominique Rocaboywhich will address, for its part, the relaunch of actions taken since the 1990s. He will talk in particular about the fodder fair, the renewable energy strategy, and the Led Rural Initiative.

After these presentations, the floor will be given to the room for an exchange with the speakers or with other people present in the public.

Debate evening at 8 p.m., in the Laurenan village hall. Entries: members: €4, non-members: €7.
