Snow-ice. School transport canceled in Mayenne, yellow vigilance in Maine-et-Loire

Due to depression Caetano, the Mayenne prefecture has implemented a decree on weather conditions. The department is placed in orange warning for snow and ice this Thursday, November 21 at 9 a.m., like 48 other departments in France. Snowfall could reach up to 10 centimeters. The circulation of school transport in Mayenne is prohibited from todayby prefectural decree. Traffic on the RN12 is prohibited for heavy goods vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes in both directions of traffic from 6 a.m. The Mayenne prefecture mobilized law enforcement and emergency services. If the situation escalates, a crisis unit at the prefecture will be set up.

Furthermore, in Maine-et-Loire, the department is placed on yellow snow and wind alert. Between 1 and 5 centimeters of snow and wind gusts between 80 and 90 km/h are expected. The Maine-et-Loire prefecture calls on residents to limit travel, avoid outdoor activities and protect their sensitive property.
