Pink October is a crucial month to remember the importance of screening and prevention in the fight against breast cancer. It is in this context that several events were organized in and around Vayrac, to collect donations: a hike in Bétaille, an auction in Vayrac, an umbrella sale, etc.
On Wednesday November 13, two checks for a total of €4,730 were given to the League Against Cancer through Christelle Duthil, representing the northern Lot branch, located in Saint-Céré. Two nice checks: €3,675, result of the auction organized on October 20 by the Entre Parenthesis association, and €1,075 by the MSP (multi-professional health center) of Uxello, following the hike organized at Livestock on October 13.
The reception took place in the Vayrac village hall in the presence of the mayor of Vayrac, Loïc Lavergne-Azard, and representatives of the MSP and the associations Entre Parenthesis, Athlé-route 46, la Cabrette. Christelle Duthil thanked all the donors and organizers. After asking the opinions of those present, Christelle announced that this sum of €4,730 will be devoted to financing supportive care.
Supportive care is defined as all the care and support necessary for sick people during and after illness in order to ensure them the best possible quality of life: psychological and social support, pain management, rehabilitation, nutrition, etc. They are done in association with specific cancer treatments when they are implemented. They are an integral part of the patient care pathway.
The glass of friendship closed this beautiful little ceremony.
