The president of the Tarn department returned in detail and at length to the commitments he has kept for 3 years, and he is rather complimentary and towards him, he boasts of having kept 95% of the proposals for which he had been re-elected in 2021. Purchasing power, health, employment, mobility, but also agriculture. In the middle of act 2 of agricultural anger, Christophe Ramond defends his record with Tarn farmers.

The Tarn would not be the Tarn without its farmers. They feed us, they shape our landscapes. Livestock breeding and vine cultivation are the Tarnes identity. We are at their side 365 days a year. We finance more than 2 million per year for our farmers. We are mobilizing 200,000 euros to help our winegrowers following the frost and hail. The departmental council also intervenes when a breeder sees his herd being attacked, to finance cameras, and to help them prepare cases.

15 million euros in efforts requested from the Tarn department

But communities will have to tighten their belts. The State is asking them for a colossal financial effort to try to reduce 's debt, and these are the departments which would be most affected: 2 billion euros would thus be taken from their revenues, around 15 million euros for the Tarn department alone. A budget cut that does not pass for Christophe Ramond. He hammered it home: he doesn't want to be forced to make difficult choices.

I cannot say: we are going to reduce the resources of the SDIS (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service) to continue to be alongside our people with disabilities, for the elderly. I can't say: I'm going to reduce weight in collective catering rather than maintain the departmental road network. We, the local authorities, unlike the State, are in action, we are in the daily lives of our fellow citizens. So each euro that we use is a useful euro, which will improve the quality of life and which will structure our territory. I think that the State must reform itself in depth, make savings in its operations.
