As if by magic (some even saw it as a sign) a radiant sun was present for the republican tribute paid to the first deputy who died a few days ago, Hervé Roberti. In addition to this omnipresent sun today, there were several hundred residents, association leaders, elected officials, and of course the family, his wife Monique and his son Vincent. The man was appreciated. There was no doubt about it.
This is because in 36 years of political commitment in the noble sense of the term, Hervé Roberti has forged a solid image of a flawless man on whom we could count on a number of issues.
The task was entrusted to Jean-François Dardenne, mayor of Nogent-sur-Oise, to retrace the journey of the man who quickly became his friend. The chief magistrate could not contain his emotion upon reading a particularly crafted speech, imbued with sincerity and a certain desire to share with as many people as possible the loss of this precious element for Nogent-sur-Oise. .
“It is difficult to look back on all these years and of course, everyone has their own memories of this erudite man, who placed “public affairs” above all, the mayor recalled.
On Wednesday, November 20, the town hall square was packed with people. Jean-Claude Villemain, mayor and president of the Creil-Sud-Oise agglomeration, could not not be there. He himself delivered a vibrant tribute. Alexandre Ouizille, senator, recalled the involvement of this resolutely left-wing man, “to be passed on to younger generations”.
Olivier Paccaud, himself a senator, had deep respect for the man of letters.
“What describes it best, I think, is the term humanism,” the senator spoke to an all-hearing audience.

A poem, read by the young elected officials of the municipal council, and a Marseille song performed by lifelong friend Freddy Della, contributed to this moment of sharing where everyone was able to make their own eulogy of a true Nogentais character.
It was a beautiful tribute held on the square in front of the town hall while waiting for the final goodbye. The funeral of Hervé Roberti will be celebrated Tuesday, November 26 at the beginning of the afternoon in the church of Nogent-sur-Oise.
