Snow appeared this morning on the heights of the country and particularly in the Fagnes. A slight film which caused a few accidents but which some also waited impatiently.
At the highest point in the country, near the Botrange signal, the snow holds on the trees and on the roads.
With the snow plow at the front and the spreading at the rear, it’s the first outing of the season. “We were called today at 4:30 a.m. for a warning and we were called back again at 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m. for the snow”indicates Jean-Marc Henrard.
A work which did not make it possible to avoid the very first automobile victim of this first snow.
To avoid crumpled metal in parking lots, Horeca establishments have cleaned up.
A little lower in altitude, in the village of Offray, the snow was more discreet. At the local school, during recess, there was just enough to make a few little balls this Wednesday. But the magic of snow is already at work. “It feels good, because we don’t often get snow”enthuses a student. Something to delight young and old alike.
