– Among taxpayers notified by mistake: tenants taxed for housing they no longer live in, or owners asked to pay for vacant housing even though they are indeed rented.

Around 6,000 Isère residents are affected by what quickly appeared to be a massive error by the tax services, explains France Bleu Isère.

To this unpleasant surprise was added the impossibility of making claims online. Some had to travel a bit, like Paola, who came from Fontaine: “My mother-in-law's home is deemed vacant, even though she lives there» she testifies. “He is asked for the sum of 1900 euros. Mea culpa de la management
The unions attribute these errors to to bugs in the “Manage my real estate” application (GMBI), not really up to scratch, according to them. On November 19, the CGT Finances Publiques clarified that civil servants were also experiencing these bugs. “The applications work poorly, so individuals come directly to us. This creates a flow of people that is difficult to manage.», explains Agnès Martin, union representative. Especially since, according to the CGT, around a hundred positions would be unfilled.
The public finance department made its mea culpa on this subject, promising that it was doing everything possible to resolve the problem. Thomas Payard, head of tax management in Isère, admits: “It’s true that this year, we detected anomalies (…) We will set things righteach owner or tenant concerned will receive an email, then we will carry out automatic relief» he announces.
