Financiers, shortbread, brownies and even chocolate bars can be discovered in the Advent calendar of The Cow of Louvicampbased in Mesnil-Mauger (Seine-Maritime).

These tasty treats made with milk from cows from the farm will keep young and old waiting as Christmas approaches.

“This is the third year we have offered our Advent calendars. The idea came to me like that. I make my children personalized calendars, so I thought why not make one with what we produce? “, explain Lucie Engérant, farmer with multiple hats.

“The only constraint we have is the size of the boxes in the packaging,” smiles Lucie.

Fresh truffles with farm butter, chocolates, meringues or other revisited recipes for holidays still manage to find their place there.

“We already have orders made by regulars,” notes the farmer.

Produced in small quantities, the calendar will be available from November 21st at the price of €12.90.

A sum likely toincrease next year due to costs packaging, chocolate and flours.

Milk, infinitely transformable

THE 80 cows Prim’Holstein of the farm produce 500,000 liters of lait, every year.

“We sell 300,000 liters to Danone. For the remaining 200,000 liters we a transformations in butter, cream and yogurt which are then incorporated into the preparation of our sweet or savory biscuits,” explains Lucie.

Farm products can be found on the markets of Mont-Saint-Aignan Wednesday morning and on Saturday morning.

Going to markets allows me to see people and explain to people where the farm's products come from and how they are made.

La Vache de Louvicamp is also part of Welcome to the farm which helps farms to develop.

“This network supports us and gives us ideas. We also do educational farm with, among other things, welcoming schoolchildren.”

Restaurant and producers’ shop

In addition to all these activitiesthe Cow of Louvicamp is also a restaurantLes Tables de la Gare at Neufchatel-en-Bray.

“For our crepes et pancakeswe work with wheat flours local soft and black wheat,” emphasizes Lucie.
