L’UIMM Occitanie kicked off the Industry Weekthis Monday, November 18, 2024, at Montpellier, during a large evening organized at the UIMM Occitanie training center at Station M, in Baillargues.

Objective of this event: to highlight local companies engaged in an innovative, sustainable and inclusive industry, as well as “Brothers of the Future”true ambassadors of an industry open to female talents. This meeting is the ideal opportunity to discover, share and bear witness to the profound transformations of a rapidly evolving sector. Around a hundred people are expected there: industrialists, institutions, employment and training professionals, apprentices, etc.

For Éric Fouillot, president of the UIMM Méditerranée-Ouest: “Industry Week is much more than an event, it is a commitment to show the richness and evolution of a sector focused on the future . Through meetings and inspiring testimonies, we want to break preconceived ideas and encourage all talents, particularly women, to imagine their place in the industry. Today more than ever, industry plays a key role in responding to the challenges of our society and we need all the skills to build the industry of tomorrow together. »

Female talents

Placed under the sign of diversity and inclusion, this Monday evening therefore highlighted the “Passeuses d’Avenir”, women with inspiring careers who embody the values ​​and modernity of the industry in Occitanie. Apprentices, professionals, managers, they will share their journeys, their challenges and their successes, illustrating the growing place of female talents within the industrial sector.

Who are the “Brothers of the Future”? Some testimonials.Alicia Cali: currently in the 2nd year of BTS ATI at the UIMM Occitanie Training Center, she is undertaking a professional reconversion in the industry after starting her career in early childhood / Léa Quidelleur: initially focused on a CAP Ironworks, she then made the choice to turn to industry. After obtaining her BAC +3, she enriched her career in business before becoming a boilermaking trainer.

Clara Bonneau: 3rd year engineering student at Cesi in Montpellier, she is also an apprentice at Airbus Commercial Aircraft / Alice Guichet: president of Pyrescom / Frédérique Iordanoff: director of ATL.

Who is the godmother?

Anaïs Voy-Gillis is the godmother of the 2024 edition of the UIMM Occitanie Industry Week, associate researcher at the IAE of Poitiers and director of Strategy and CSR within an industrial group. She is the very first sponsor of the UIMM Occitanie Industry Week, a role that she occupies with enthusiasm and commitment: “I was very touched by this proposal to sponsor their Industry Week. It makes a lot of sense to me to support events that promote the industry to the general public. The UIMM Occitanie, with its various actions, tries to break the codes and offer a dynamic image of what the industry is today. We need to show that the industry is a diversity of sectors, activities and professions where everyone, whatever their background or profile, can find their place. »

Until this Sunday, November 24, 2024, the UIMM Occitanie Industry Week 2024 offers nearly 200 actions throughout the regional territory: job dating, company visits and interactive workshops. These events aim to raise awareness among the general public, young people, careers professionals and job seekers of the numerous opportunities offered by the industry, a key sector for energy, environmental and digital transitions. Industrial professions offer attractive, stable and meaningful jobs. This sector is a concrete response to major social and environmental challenges, with great career prospects.

Promote the industry

The UIMM Occitanie represents regional industrial metallurgical companies and supports their economic and social development on a daily basis. Legal issues, human resources, training, financing, environment…. The professional organization is committed to meeting the needs of its members as closely as possible with the ambition of contributing to their overall performance and the attractiveness of the region.
