The FFF gave victory to USSA Vertou which will therefore go to the meeting in place of its neighbor Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu.
The duel of the Loire-Atlantique clubs to go to Reunion in the eighth round of the French Cup finally turns in favor of USSA Vertou (National 3). In pole position to go to the Indian Ocean, after the Overseas draw, the Vertavians were eliminated in La Rochelle on Sunday against Etoile Maritime (Regional 2) after penalties (0-0, 3-4 ). Which therefore benefited its neighbor Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu (National 3), second in the hierarchy of overseas draws.
But Vertou was skeptical about certain players from Charente-Maritime, in particular the young Senegalese goalkeeper who arrived without an international transfer certificate or a defender with a license without a transfer stamp although he was licensed last season in the Paris region. After studying the file, the Federal Settlements and Litigation Commission rendered its verdict. It is therefore Sainte-Anne de Vertou who qualifies and who will leave for Reunion to face Saint-Denis FC.
An attempt at license fraud?
“Considering in this case that the fact of having, on the one hand, made a request for a dematerialized license by declaring a foreign club as the last club left by the player for the 2021/2022 season and, on the other hand, having produces a license application form on which no left club was indicated, even though it is proven that the person concerned was licensed in 2023/2024 constitutes a false declaration within the meaning of article 207 of the General Regulations” it is specified in the minutes.
The FFF also asks the Ligue de Nouvelle-Aquitaine to affix the transfer stamp outside the period on this player's license. But it goes further by inviting the regional body “to act by way of evocation for all meetings not approved on the date of 11/18/2024”. The sanction could therefore be much heavier than a lost match in the Coupe de France.
On the Vertou side, we prefer to remain discreet. “Everything in its time because we must not forget that we lost on the fieldunderlines Alban Atonatty, the Vertavian president. The most important one at the moment is our championship match on Saturday against FC Challans. » Failing to go out in the sun, Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu will have a great challenge to take on with the reception of Pau FC (Ligue 2). Even if that will not alleviate the disappointment of the Phillibertines.
