Orange, red, black: Bison futé announces traffic conditions up to an “extremely difficult” level for vacation departures

For the first departures, certain routes may be congested.

The suitcases are almost packed. With less than two weeks before the summer school holidays, the desire to go green is at its peak. Sea, mountain, countryside… The choices are made, all that remains is to leave. Be careful, however, for those who plan to make the journey by car, road traffic promises to be heavy throughout France. From Friday June 28 to Sunday June 30, the last weekend before the school holidays, a large flow of motorists is expected on the main roads in the region. Traffic is expected to be heavy, mainly in the direction of departures, from Friday afternoon. Bison Futé places all regions in orange (difficult traffic), except Île-de-France, classified red. These conditions should improve for Saturday and Sunday.

In July, axes in red and black

The forecast for July is worse. Saturday 6, Bison Futé sees red in the direction of departures. Be careful if you plan to hit the road on this date. The following disruptions are planned for Friday 12 and Saturday 13 with very difficult traffic (direction of departures) from Hauts-de-France to Brittany. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is also classified in red for July 13. Similar scenario for the following weekend: with the first returns from vacation, the day of Saturday 20 promises to be very difficult both in terms of departures and arrivals. The biggest disruptions of the month are expected for the last weekend where traffic is likely to be very dense: Bison Futé sees black (extremely difficult) Saturday July 27 in the direction of departures and red for arrivals. Forecasts will be refined a few weeks before the weekends concerned.
