THE 58 firefighters of the fire and rescue center of Quercy-Caussadais carry out each year more than 1,200 interventions. They now have a new barracks in Monteils (Tarn-et-Garonne). The new center, whose first stone was laid in July 2023, is now operational after only 12 months of work.
An eco-responsible building
The barracks, with an area of 1,200 m², were designed according to strict sustainable development criteria. Of the photovoltaic panels, water reserves and conservation of existing trees are solutions implemented to reduce the environmental footprint of the building.
The project benefited from the involvement of 16 local companies. The architect and the firefighters collaborated from the start to design a place perfectly suited to the specific needs of the firefighters and safety requirements.
An investment of more than 600,000 euros for the Department
With a direct investment of €635,000the Departmental Council contributed more than 40% of the total cost, in line with its support of 50% of the SDIS82 resources, thus allowing rapid and efficient construction of the infrastructure.
The rescue and fire center operates in the municipalities of Caussade, Monteils, Puylaroque, Saint-Cirq, Saint-Vincent, Lapenche and Saint-Georges.
