At Decize hospital, two Padhue work, one in the emergency department and another in medicine. The recruitment procedure changed about a year ago, as Marie-Pierre Silvestre-Toussaint, the deputy director, explains.
Two Padhue are part of the medical team at Decize hospital. One in the emergency room and one in medicine who arrived before the reform concerning this status.
For a year, “hospitals can recruit practitioners from outside the European Union only if they are engaged in the course imposed at the national level for recognition of diplomas and skills,” explains Marie-Pierre Silvestre-Toussaint, the deputy director of the Decize hospital.
The two Padhues from the hospital passed the diploma recognition competition. After the two years of training, they will be able to apply to be registered with the Order of Physicians.
Those we hire have necessarily passed the competition.
And the deputy director added: “We are recruiting some. But now you have to have an approved service.” To obtain this approval, “there must be a senior capable of supervising the Padhue”.

In Decize, only the emergency department got it. Marie-Pierre Silvestre-Toussaint would like to request it for others. “We are discussing it with the department heads. » She recognizes that “we are in a medical desert. We are using this leverage” to remedy the shortage of doctors.
Other hospitals in the GHT of Nièvre have hired them. “We have 31 Padhue working within the Nièvre GHT, a majority working at the Nevers hospital center. »
