resurgence of false interventions for connected thermostats in the Metropolis

The Métropole de is warning residents against a fraudulent campaign claiming to use its services. Falsified intervention notices are circulating, presenting themselves as linked to the device for installing connected thermostats.

The Métropole de Lyon is alerting residents to a scam in progress. In a press release, she indicates that “Documents bearing the Metropolis logo and referring to the system for installing connected thermostats set up in partnership with Voltalis are currently circulating in several buildings.” These fraudulent documents evoke a legal framework, citing Decree No. 2023-444, and claim that the intervention is supported by the State.

The Metropolis specifies that “this type of approach, as described in these documents, has never been initiated by its services, nor by its partner Voltalis”and recalls that its official communications only pass through official channels, “such as our website, our newsletters, or signed newsletters”. No requests via suspicious QR codes or unknown numbers are part of its practices.

The Métropole's legal department has taken steps to file a complaint and calls on residents to exercise caution. If in doubt, it is recommended to “contact the Information and Contact Center of the Métropole de Lyon directly on 04 78 63 40 00 to verify the authenticity of the communications.”
