Like 27 other departments in France, Calvados was placed by Météo France on orange “snow” vigilance on Thursday November 21, 2024. As announced on Tuesday November 19, the department will be crossed by several snowy episodes during the day.
Snow in the south and on Bessin
In the morning, snowflakes are expected throughout the south of Calvados, between Vire in the west and Orbec in the Pays d'Auge. Epaney, Bretteville-sur-Laize, Tilly-sur-Seulles and all of Bessin, including Bayeux, will also be affected.
Rebelote in the afternoon: snow should also fall in Lisieux or in the Varaville sector.
No snow in Caen, but cold
Caen should, however, be spared from snow, even if “rare showers” are possible according to Météo France. With wind gusts at 40 km/h, the average temperature of 2° will even drop to minus 2° in feeling.
Thunderstorms Friday
Friday November 22, further snowfall is expected in the morning in the Vire, Condé and southern Pays d'Auge areas.
On the Calvados coast (Courseulles-sur-Mer, Varaville) and in the Pont-l'Évêque sector, storms are forecast with a rise in temperatures: it will be 7° in the afternoon from Friday to Caen.
