Young man dies after being hit by freight train

A few days ago, an Ardennes driver miraculously escaped death after being hit by a train on a level crossing. But last night around 10 p.m., a young man tragically died on the rails, in Pouru-Saint-Remy, in the Ardennes.

The prosecution ordered an autopsy

Taken by rescuers for an assessment, the train driver refused to be taken to hospital. The 48-year-old man was left on site by the firefighters, before being questioned by the police. The public prosecutor, Magali Josse, declared to our colleagues that “the victim was on the railway tracks, outside the station”.

The Charleville-Mézières public prosecutor's office also indicated to L'Ardennais that an investigation had been opened for manslaughter, in order to “determine the circumstances of the victim's death. » For its part, the SNCF ensures that it has put in place psychological support for the driver.
