The association of Rivière-Saas-et-Gourby“Les Petits Ruisseaux”, is organizing a film-debate evening, this Saturday, November 23 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the town hall. This event is part of the programming of the AlimenTerre festival which takes place at this time in the department and throughout .

Climate justice in the mountains

During this evening, the documentary “ Tomorrow, the valley » which traces the journey of the European research project “Just Scapes” in the Arac valley in Ariège, a participatory action research project on climate justice in the mountains. It gives citizens a voice on land use in the context of climate change.

Debate on food social security and “soup fest”

At the end of the documentary, workshop debates will be open to the public including an evocation of the subject of social food security, discussed by several structures and which aims at “universal access to food chosen by citizens and who pay the farmers who produce it, via an agreement system,” explains the Confédération Paysanne union, one of the organizations in this project.

The AlimenTerre Festival

The ALIMENTERRE Documentary Film Festival is an essential international event on the issues of food and agriculture in the world. It is coordinated by the French Committee for International Solidarity (CFSI), supported on French territory by reference centers.

Its objectives: To help citizens understand the causes of hunger and to mobilize for access for all to sufficient, quality food in France and around the world, to think about the possibilities of another food system, or to give concrete ways to commit to access to quality food for all.

At the end of the evening, time for a “soup feast” with a organic and local meal“free and conscious pricing” ask the organizers.
