Low temperatures will lead to a risk of snowfall this Thursday, November 21, according to Météo France, which places Eure-et-Loir and southern Yvelines on Orange snow-ice alert at the end of the morning.
In its bulletin published this Wednesday, November 20, Météo-France places 28 departments on orange alert for a risk linked to snowfall and the formation of ice. Disturbances caused by the passage of the Caetano depression. This winter episode is early for the regions concerned and sufficiently notable to make traffic conditions difficult.

“North of this depression, snowfall down to the plains is expected between the end of the night from Wednesday to Thursday and the evening of Thursday, from Brittany to Center-Val-de-Loire, via Normandy” , specifies Météo France.
“Gusts could approach 100 km/h inland between Loire-Atlantique and Cher,” warn the weather services.
The disturbance progresses Thursday morning towards Normandy, the north of Pays-de-la-Loire before reaching Center-Val de Loire after 10 a.m.
Eure-et-Loir will enter orange snow-ice alert at 11 a.m. this Thursday.
“The precipitation is of low intensity, but continuous. It gradually weakens from the west during the afternoon. In the departments of Centre-Val de Loire in orange, it continues a little after 7 p.m. “Over the entire episode, we expect 1 to 5 cm of snow on the ground.”
On the temperature side, the mercury is experiencing a clear drop. In Eure-et-Loir, count one -1°C for minimums and up to 3°C at the best of the day for the maximums.
Up to 7 cm of snow locally in southern Yvelines
This Thursday, November 21, the Caetano depression, which crosses France from west to east, is circulating south of the Île-de-France region. From midday, snowfall approaches Île-de-France from the west.
“It generates light but lasting snowfall throughout the afternoon, before evacuating towards the east in the evening,” specifies Météo France, which places Yvelines on orange alert from 11 a.m.
Over the entire episode, we expect “1 to 3 cm of snow on the ground, locally 4 to 7 in the south of the region (south-Yvelines and Essonne)”.
Météo France warns of refreezing phenomena expected the following night.
