After several days of demonstration, the farmers of the Dordogne Rural Coordination left in around ten tractors towards Brive and Corrèze, on the morning of Wednesday November 20.
Farmers from the Dordogne Rural Coordination (CR 24) demonstrated on Tuesday, November 19, in front of the Dordogne prefecture, before meeting the prefect, Jean-Sébastien Lamontagne. After dumping waste in front of the institution, they went to the Departmental Directorate of Territories (DDT), then to the Leclerc in Trélissac, and finally to the Departmental Federation of Hunters in Marsac to demonstrate their discontent, in particular by hanging their skin and boars head.
“Find a solution elsewhere”
The next morning, around ten tractors were still present around the Allées Tourny. “First, we're going to have a bite to eat, drink a glass of red wine and a coffee before heading towards Corrèze to meet up with other Rural Coordination,” explains Rémi Dumaure, president of the Dordogne Rural Coordination. No one will stay in Périgueux. » It was around 10:30 a.m. that they left. “We won't gain anything by staying in front of the prefecture, they don't want to listen to us,” adds a farmer from the union. “We have to find another solution elsewhere, that’s why we’re going to Brive and regrouping there,” confirms Rémi Dumaure.
Escorted by the police, then the gendarmerie, the convoy has planned a journey time of around two hours, with other farmers who will join it on the journey.
