13 firefighters on site and traffic cut off

The alert was given in the afternoon, Thursday June 27, 2024. A gas leak had just broken out on Boulevard du 1er-Chasseurs, in Alençon (Orne). A dozen firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Four residents were evacuated.

It was 3:30 p.m. when the alert was given. A gas leak had just broken out on Boulevard du 1is-Hunters, in Alençon (Orne), at street number 15. The pipe break was probably caused by work.

Very quickly, a security system was put in place. Traffic was cut off on part of the boulevard, between numbers 2 and 28.

Four residents evacuated

Thirteen Alençon firefighters were deployed as well as a GRDF team which was able to stop the leak. Four residents were temporarily evacuated during the intervention.

At 4:30 p.m., traffic was still blocked and the “Résidence de Strasbourg” and “Conseil Départemental” bus stops could not be served.
