In Vendée, no less than 90 members are united within this association to promote the values of the social and solidarity economy and support the structures that come under it.
This year, we will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the cluster, at the same time as the tenth anniversary of the ESS law, introduced in 2014 by Benoît Hamon, then delegate minister.
A highlight of the network which will offer the opportunity to take stock of ten years of ESS in Vendée.
“But also to plan for the future and outline perspectives. »
Let's imagine together the ESS of tomorrow, this is the theme of the forum.
18% of public and private employment in the Agglo
An economy which is not insignificant in the territory of the Yonnais agglomeration, since it represents 18.4% of public and private employment.
In the Vendée department, the figure increases to 12.8%.
However, it should be noted that 90% of Vendée municipalities have at least one ESS employer establishment : a sports club, a leisure or home support association, etc.
On the agenda for the day, a round table entitled “Is the ESS a response to tomorrow’s challenges?” What impacts or dynamics in Vendée? »
As well as a village of members and initiatives of associations, in particular those of the welcoming commune of Mouilleron-le-Captif.
But also a quiz, a participatory fresco, thematic workshops.
The forum is intended to be open to all curious people who want to know more about the ESS.
And since it's about celebrating the pole's tenth anniversary, a birthday cake will be served at lunchtime, before the bubbles come to liven up the evening's festive cocktail dinner.
What is ESS?
The term social and solidarity economy brings together a set of structures that share common values and principles: social utility, cooperation, local anchoring adapted to the needs of each territory and its inhabitants. Their activities are not aimed at personal enrichment, but at sharing and solidarity for an economy that respects people and their environment.
The social economy has its roots in the workers' movement of the 19th century and its resistance to the productivist logic of the industrial revolution. As for the solidarity economy, it was born in the 1970s to respond to the new needs of populations affected by unemployment and social exclusion. The Social and Solidarity Economy was born from the synthesis of these two concepts.
